Livestock are domesticated animals raised in an agricultural setting to produce commodities such as meateggsmilkfurleather, andwool, and to produce labor. The term is sometimes used to refer solely to those that are bred for consumption, while other times it refers only to farmed ruminants, such as cattle and goats.[1]
In recent years, some organizations have also raised livestock to promote the survival of rare breeds. The breeding, maintenance, and slaughter of these animals, known as animal husbandry, is a component of modern agriculture that has been practiced in many cultures since humanity's transition to farming from hunter-gatherer lifestyles.
Animal husbandry practices have varied widely across cultures and time periods. Originally, livestock were not confined by fences or enclosures, but these practices have largely shifted to intensive animal farming, sometimes referred to as "factory farming". Now, over 99% of livestock are raised on factory farms.[2] These practices increase yield of the various commercial outputs, but have also led to negative impacts on animal welfare and the environmental. Livestock production continues to play a major economic and cultural role in numerous rural communities.

Europe’s second tier competition may not bring with it the riches of the  Champions League , but it can still bring in a decent amount of money - as the £35 million Arsenal pocketed from their run to the 2019 final proved. And for Mikel Arteta that extra money could be vital as he looks to reshape a squad that - despite this victory - is in desperate need a rebuild. What Arteta as done since walking through the doors at the Emirates Stadium has been extraordinary. It is ...

He insisted that anyone calling for the unity of Nigeria does not mean well for the already troubled nation. His words, “Remember, it was the Igbo man that formed this PDP but they snatched it from him. Then, it was clear that an Igbo man would be the President of Nigeria. But in Jos, it was the Igbo who robbed themselves of that opportunity. The Igbo at that political event in Jos started speaking Hausa. “The Igbo started sponsoring (Olusegun) Obasanj...
