How To Find ZIP/Postal Codes Of State / City In Nigeria

You should have had the cause to look for the zip codes of your state, city or street at one point in your life. If you have never been in this situation, you probably do not fill online forms much or you simply put whatever numbers in the text box. Some will just look for the phone code (23439 for Ogun State and 23401 for Lagos), and enter it wherever the form asks for Zip/Postal code.

Some do this out of ignorance because they really do not know what a zip code or a postal code is. Many people cannot differentiate between a Zip or Postal Code and Phone Code. Let me explain briefly.

What is a Zip or Postal Code?

Simply put, a postal code (known in various countries as a post code, postcode, or ZIP code in United States) is a series of letters and/or digits appended to a postal address for the purpose of sorting mail. It helps post offices to sort mails/parcels by state, cities and streets in order to make delivery easier and faster.

So, How Can I Get Postal Code For My City / Area In Nigeria?

Nigerian Postal Service has a web portal where you can go to and find all urban and rural zip or postal code as you may call it. This portal is very simple to use. Just like the screenshot above, all you have to do is:
1. Go to the Nigerian Post codes portal at www.nigeriapostcodes.com/
2. Choose if you want to search by Urban Location, Rural Location or Postal Facility (I am using the urban option)
3. Now choose your state from the drop-down
4. Choose your Town, then Area and lastly, Street
5. To get the code, click on the GET POSTCODE button
This will bring the postal code to you to copy. This is the code for your area or street, depending on what is written there.
For quick references, we have a list of Postcodes by states listed below for you.

Cup final hero Aubameyang has Arsenal dreaming of a brighter future Two goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang saw Arsenal come from behind to beat  Chelsea  2-1 at Wembley and ensured they did not suffer the embarrassment of missing out on European football next season for the first time in 25 years. They can now plan for the 2020-21 campaign - which gets underway in just 42 days time - safe in the knowledge that they will have   Europa League   revenue coming their way. Europe’s second tier competition may not bring with it the riches of the  Champions League , but it can still bring in a decent amount of money - as the £35 million Arsenal pocketed from their run to the 2019 final proved. And for Mikel Arteta that extra money could be vital as he looks to reshape a squad that - despite this victory - is in desperate need a rebuild. What Arteta as done since walking through the doors at the Emirates Stadium has been extraordinary. It is ...
‘Igbos Are The Most Foolish Tribe In The World – MASSOB Leader, Uwazurike Founder and leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, Chief Ralph Uwazurike, has described the Igbo tribe as foolish. In a chat with PUNCH, The MASSOB founder insisted that Igbo may not become Nigeria’s president because they only fight for their pocket. He recalled how Igbo was pushed aside after forming the former ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 1999. He insisted that anyone calling for the unity of Nigeria does not mean well for the already troubled nation. His words, “Remember, it was the Igbo man that formed this PDP but they snatched it from him. Then, it was clear that an Igbo man would be the President of Nigeria. But in Jos, it was the Igbo who robbed themselves of that opportunity. The Igbo at that political event in Jos started speaking Hausa. “The Igbo started sponsoring (Olusegun) Obasanj...
