- with yourself when you keep trying to follow the advice of several people, so stop considering what others think, and focus on what you think and how you feel. Start being radically honest with yourself, so you can identify your hurdles and the best way to beat them.
2. Forgive Yourself
Sometimes you can be so hard on yourself, it paralyzes you. Sometimes that happens when you give in to your doubts. In order to keep moving forward, and to move beyond your doubts, you have to forgive yourself: for letting your misgivings get the best of you, for letting them impact your work, for having a moment of weakness, etc. Everyone experiences self-doubt, and the sooner you forgive yourself, the sooner you can move forward.
3. You're Not Alone
Everyone has dark periods, where they are unsure where they are going in life or how to move forward when they are in a rut. The best way to make progress is to just keep going, one task at a time, one day at a time, one week at a time. Make yourself proud with your continuous effort, because you will get through this.
4. Surround Yourself With The Right People
Surrounding yourself with the right people makes a significant difference in how long it takes you to conquer your self doubt. They are the ones who are going to love you, support you and root for you through what you feel are your worst moments, and help you get back in the saddle. Reach out to them sooner rather than later. The best thing you can do for yourself is to reach out to someone, or a few people, you know truly care about you and tell them what is going on.
5. Build Confidence One Step At A Time
The foundation of self confidence is your accomplishments, large and small. Progress is achieved in increments, not in one fell swoop. So if you know you're unhappy, and you believe you can do more, then start with small goals and build on them. Whatever your goal is: wake up 15 minutes earlier, eat more vegetables, go to bed 15 minutes earlier, start taking the initiative to block things that distract you and enable your bad habits. Following through on small steps forward will give you the confidence to build on those steps and keep pushing forward.
